Wally's Roast Beef: Where Flavor Meets Casual Dining in Bloomington

Wally’s was there for me when COVID struck and it’s there for me as we enter what appears to be the early days of the end of our republic. I think that says a lot that when the times get tough, I fall back on Wally’s famous roast beef sandwiches, their amazing onion rings, and truly world class vanilla malts. Don’t forget to order some au jus, but take caution, it’s hot. Best staff in the metro area.

Good food! They slice good beef for every order. I got the blue plate and it was really good. Everyone was friendly and good atmosphere. Very clean and nice decoration.

Okay place. The prices are lower than other sandwich shops, but the sandwiches are small. The roast beef was a couple of slices of meat. Including a side of au jus for a couple bucks, a fish sandwich, onion rings, and a $2 can of pop (plus tip and tax) I paid close to $30. The fish was a smaller filet, a little dry, tasted ok. I added the lettuce, I kind of wish there was tomatoes. Some other sandwiches other customers got looked better.

So glad we looked up this place! Visiting from Kansas City Missouri. BEST ROAST BEEF SANDWICHES EVER!!! You won’t be disappointed. It will ruin any other sandwich shop for you. We will be back for sure!!!!!

We enjoyed our lunch here. A very charming little place on the ground floor of an office building. A well refined menu and quality ingredients. We had their roast beef sandwiches with cheese fries, and everything was great. We are looking forward to visiting again and trying the rest of their menu

I stopped in for lunch with my parents. It was their first time eating there. Philly sandwiches were good. Chili was a little spicy & mashed potatoes were good, but there was more gravy than potatoes.

Wally’s is a Bloomington staple and probably one of the few affordable places still in town. Been eating it since the 90’s in my teens and I always stop by when back in my home state. Saturday special was 2 cheeseburgers meatloaf or roast beef sandwiches mix and match for 10.00 My favorite day is Monday the pork tenderloin sammy special. It’s lasted this long because it’s solid don’t sleep on it especially visitors! The bbq sauce is unique goes great on the tender roast beef.

This has been on my list for a while and I finally swung in for lunch. The staff and service were great! Fast and very friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. The food was pretty mid. My roast beef sandwich was okay but absolutely required au jus (which I had ordered - the only thing I thought was a little steep at $1.99) or BBQ sauce. My side salad was substantial but had so many onions on it that it was hard to eat. I'll go for fried goodness the next time I come in.
